Safety Surfaces
Making Outdoor Fitness and Play Areas Safer
At Browne Brothers, we specialise in the supply and installation of a range of safety surfaces that meet the highest standards of safety, durability, and design.
All of our installations comply with EN 1177 safety standards, allowing us to create safe, inclusive, and long-lasting play environments for all clients.
Types of Safety Surfaces We Offer
We supply and install a wide range of impact-absorbing surfaces to suit every setting:
- Wetpour Rubber Safety Surfaces: A seamless, highly durable surfacing option ideal for busy playgrounds and schools. Wetpour provides excellent impact absorption, smooth wheelchair accessibility, and can be customised with EPDM topping in UV stable colours and laid in fun patterns.
- Resin-Bound Rubber Mulch: For a more natural look, our resin-bound rubber mulch delivers the appearance of bark chippings with the safety and resilience of bonded rubber. It’s a popular choice for parks and woodland-themed play areas, offering excellent fall protection and easy maintenance.
- Rubber surfacing for Running Tracks: We supply and install the PLIXXOTRAK® Spray coat system which utilises a structural spray comprising polyurethane compound and fine EPDM granules, this system is a solid solution for institutional, recreational and field training facilities, with a textured final surface.
- Play Grade loose fibre bark mulch: With a natural finish, our play-grade loose fibre bark mulch offers an organic, approved loose-fill safety surface certified for playground use, allowing a woodland aesthetic without sacrificing protection
- Safagrass mats: Durable, impact-absorbing mats that can be laid directly over grass and provide a safe, natural-looking finish, ideal for play equipment zones
